a juice bottle..some old news paper..paint and quilling...super fun and amazing look...
The penstand...cut the juice bottle ...covered with paper...made news paper pipes...cut them a bit uneven...stuck them on the bottle...painted it...
made some quilled roses...nice and bright yellow...orange and purple...punched some leaves..
stuck them up....

My fascination towards different types of footwear just gets me creating these ones...lovely colors and patterns...may not be able to wear them but use them on your desk..fridge magnet...as a trinket for your mobile phone...key chains and a lot more..

Quilling for me started when i was on my vacation to Australia in 2003....have been quilling since then though itsy bitsy stuff...putting some of them which i have done recently...

Start Quilling
Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. These shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork.
Quilling often imitated the original ironwork of the day.Many quilled art works can be found on cabinets and stands, cribbage boards, ladies' purses, a wide range of both pictures and frames, work baskets, tea caddies, coats of arms and wine coasters. Storage boxes, larger than most jewelry boxes with drawers and/or tops that opened, quilled lock boxes, and much more. Some items were specially designed for quilling with recessed surfaces. Quilling was also combined or married with other techniques such as embroidery and painting.
The craft has gone through many transformations and changes through the ages using new techniques, styles and materials. Dimensional quilling creates 3D items.
